Decorative painting is the work that gives a room one surface which is not simply a colour: a metallic panel, a feature wall, a ceiling detail, a reception that has to look like something. It is the part of a paint job that is judged on sight.
What we do
- Feature walls — a single wall in a deeper tone, a texture or a metallic finish
- Metallic and gold finishes — using Prestige Shining Gold Decor for panels, mouldings and alcoves
- Ceiling and cornice detail — accent colour on POP mouldings and ceiling roses
- Colour blocking and banding — geometric panels and horizontal bands
- Commercial feature areas — receptions, shopfronts and hospitality spaces
Why the surface decides the result
Metallic and decorative finishes reflect light at an angle, which means they show every trowel mark, every brush line and every imperfection in the plaster underneath. The preparation on a decorative wall has to be better than on a plain one, not the same. Filling, sanding and a consistent base coat matter more than the topcoat does.
Test it in the room
Gold and metallic finishes change completely with the light. A sample board viewed in a shop will not tell you how it looks on a north-facing wall at 4pm. Have a panel done in the actual room before the whole wall is committed.
